What are the requirements for securing a loan?
- Active membership
- Consistent monthly savings
- Adequate guarantors (except for self-guaranteed loans)
What is a self-guaranteed loan?
A self-guaranteed loan is a facility where a member uses their deposits/savings in the Sacco as security, instead of guarantors.
How long does loan processing take?
Loan processing depends on the completeness of documentation, availability of guarantors (if required), and meeting all loan conditions. Generally, emergency loans are processed faster, within 24 hours.
Can I clear my loan before the due date?
Yes. Early loan repayment is allowed and may save you on interest.
What happens if I default on my loan?
In case of default, the Sacco may recover from guarantors, deposits, or take other measures in line with Sacco policies. Members are encouraged to engage the credit office early in case of repayment difficulties.
