Who Can Join?

Primary Members

Members of PCEA congregations, their spouses, employees of PCEA institutions, business persons, and employees within Kiambu and Nairobi, and Diaspora members.

Associate Members

Direct relatives of primary members and employees of organizations with formal agreements with the Sacco.

Group Members

Registered groups, such as chamas and self-help groups.

Corporate Members

Registered Churches, companies, and other organizations.

How to Apply

Individuals (Primary and Associate Members)

To become a member, applicants must complete the official Sacco membership application form and provide the following:

  • Two recent passport-size photographs.
  • A copy of your National ID or valid passport.
  • A copy of your KRA PIN certificate.
  • Specific documents based on membership type (e.g., a letter from a PCEA church elder for primary members, or referral from a current Member).

Upon joining, a minimum contribution of Kshs. 4,000 is required. This includes a non-refundable entrance fee of Kshs. 1,000 and a Benevolent Fund fee of Kshs. 1,000, paid once annually. Pay up the share capital to a minimum of Ksh. 10,000 within 6 months.

Groups

Registered groups can join membership by filling the group Membership form and presenting it to the Sacco alongside the following:

  • Group registration certificate
  • Minutes of resolution to join the Sacco
  • A copy of KRA PIN for the group
  • 3 Signatories and copies of their National identity Cards

Upon joining, pay up a minimum shareholding of Kshs. 30,000. This can be paid in 3 instalments.

Corporate Membership or Congregation

Registered Congregations or registered companies can join Rupsa Sacco Membership by providing a filled in Membership form alongside the following:

  • Registration certificate
  • Minutes of resolution of the Board to join the Sacco
  • A copy of KRA PIN
  • 3 Signatories and copies of their National identity Cards

Upon joining, pay up a minimum shareholding of Kshs. 30,000. This can be paid in 3 instalments.

Share Capital and Contributions

Share Capital

Share Capital constitutes the institutional capital and is non-refundable. It can be transferred to another member and earns dividends at the end of the financial year.

  • Kshs. 10,000 for Individual members (initial Kshs. 2,000 upon joining).
  • Kshs. 30,000 for Corporate members and registered groups.

Deposits Contribution

These are regular, non-withdrawable savings that act as collateral for loans and earn interest annually.

  • Kshs. 500 minimum monthly contribution for Primary and Associate members.
  • Kshs. 2,000 minimum monthly deposit for Corporate members and registered groups.

Member Benefits

Education Seminars

Engage in educational seminars on risk management and legal compliance.

Benevolent Fund

A fund to support a member’s family in the event of their death.

Dividends and Interest

Earn annual dividends on shares and interest on deposits based on the Sacco’s performance.
